LISTING / Play

Wake Alone is a horror anthology you read and decide your way through. Each story wakes you somewhere in deep space, alone, on a ship or a station where something has already gone wrong, and asks what you do next.

Thirteen stories ship with the app. Three of them are free to play all the way through. A single purchase opens the other ten, including a three-part adventure that carries what you did in one chapter into the next.

Nothing is generated while you play. Every room, every object and every ending was written by hand before you arrived, so the world holds still and means what it says. There is no randomness to reroll and nothing inventing the ship around you as you go.

Your condition is a meter called neural integrity, and it mostly goes down. Reading something you cannot unread costs you. So does opening the door you were right to be afraid of. A rare choice earns a little of it back, and med-gel buys more, if you found any. At zero the run ends, and it does not end kindly.

Getting out takes more than nerve. Exits are held shut by things you have to find and understand first, usually in different corners of the ship, and most routes end somewhere worse than where they started. Death is common. Escape is possible, and it costs.

Plays offline. Once per launch it checks whether a newer version is available; the check never blocks play and stays silent if it fails or finds none. No ads, no subscription, no timers and no second currency. Sharing anonymized play data is optional, off unless you turn it on, carries no device identifier or location, and can be turned off from the app whenever you like.

Read in the dark. Headphones help.
